5. If stitches are required, follow your doctor's instructions for wound care and stitch removal. Proper care can minimize the appearance of scars.

6. Apply sunscreen to the healed wound to protect it from sun exposure. Sun protection helps reduce discoloration and aids in fading the scar. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and reapply regularly.
